QUEETS RELOCATION
The most recent Washington Department of Natural Resources tsunami models show the lower area of Queets to be in danger from a tsunami caused by a 9.2 Cascadia Subduction Zone earthquake. The QIN Planning Department started the planning process to prepare a plan to relocate Queets with help from Ripple Planning, a group of six Masters students from Portland State University's School of Urban and Regional Planning. Over the course of five months the students worked with the community and produced a vision document for the relocation of the village. Click below for the Vision Document.

Community Meetings
The Portland State team has led two Community Meetings, where Queets residents expressed their desires and vision for the new village. By the end of June 2018, the Portland State students will prepare a report detailing the village's input and initial studies of development in the higher areas adjacent to the village.
We are looking for as much community input as possible. Please let us know if you would like to participate in the planning! Stop by the main office to fill out surveys - look for the big box to the right of Sandra's desk. Or fill it out online at this link.
