The Quinault Nation Heritage Committee

The Quinault Historical Foundation was founded in 1979 by a group of Quinault tribal members and interested non-members for planning a center on the Quinault Reservation to contain a museum, archives, and research center. The Quinault Nation Heritage Committee, formerly known as the QHF is devoted to the service and enlightenment of the members of the Quinault Tribe and believes its planned Museum Library Research Center can only enhance the Tribe’s newly awakened sense of identity with its ancient history.

In 1980 the Quinault Business Committee, the governing board of the Quinault Nation, passed a resolution recognizing the Quinault Historical Foundation as the repository of tribal culture, history and social life. In April of 2003 the Quinault Nation Heritage Committee has deemed it fit to incorporate as a 501 © (3) non-profit organization in order to fulfill the perceptions of all its members both on and off the reservation.

Not only will the Quinault Nation Heritage Committee enhance the Tribe’s newly awakened sense of identity with the ancient history but also will develop the human and cultural potential of the community and surrounding areas; to provide programs and services for the artists and educational needs to the community and to serve the public.
